President Buhari will attend Thursday’s NEC meeting summoned by APC ANC Giadom, Presidency confirms

The Nigeria’s Presidency looks good to intervene in the crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the country as it confirms that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman and so that President Muhammadu Buhari will attend the Virtual National Executive Council (NEC) meeting he summoned to hold tomorrow.
Although it was not in the notice issued Wednesday, The DEFENDER, relying on good authorities, had reported that Giadom had the backing of the President and that venue of the meeting, which is partly virtual and physical, will be State House.
The Presidency, in a statement via the Twitter handle of Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said the President is included towards the leadership of Giadom bring that he would not do anything outside of the law of the land.
Expressing the hope that tomorrow Thursday’s June 25, 2020 NEC meeting will be attended by governors and leaders of the National Assembly, the Presidential Media Aide urged the media to stop promoting manufactured controversies and not to join in mischievous interpretation of law in the APC leadership matter.
Shehu said: “The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman.
“Because he will always act in accordance with the law, the President will be attending the virtual meeting Giadom called for tomorrow afternoon.
“We urge the media to stop promoting manufactured controversies and to not give any further room for mischievous interpretations of the law on this matter.
“In addition to the President, the Giadom meeting will, hopefully, be attended by our Governors and the leaders of the National Assembly.”
