Presidency sad Channels TV invited it to speak on Ekiti Governor’s call for Buhari’s resignation
*Garba Shehu: ‘When Fayose talks, we don’t talk’
“You have the parliament which is doing its own work, you have the judiciary which is running, you have the executive and we don’t have any problem with this. So, if anybody has a problem with the constitution, then they should go and change it,” Shehu said.
The Presidency on Tuesday night was apparently discomforted for discovering that what it was invited to do on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme was to come and talk on the call by the controversial Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.
The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, who was on the Channels Television programme simply replied the questioner who asked for his reaction on the programme that the Presidency do not talk when Fayose talks.
Shehu, however, said the Fayose’s call was misplaced.
“I’m sad that you are inviting me to speak on Governor Fayose. If you follow the presidency, we don’t talk when he talks because he is desperate for publicity,” he said.
The presidential spokesman said, “We have a constitution that governs the country and the constitution is very clear about how the country runs. This country has a tripod of authority in terms of distribution of political power.
“You have the parliament which is doing its own work, you have the judiciary which is running, you have the executive and we don’t have any problem with this. So, if anybody has a problem with the constitution, then they should go and change it.”
