PDP nearly liquidated Nigeria before Buhari came – Bisi Akande

A national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party of nearly liquidating Nigeria through looting and other forms of brigandage before the All Progressive Congress came to the rescue.

Chief Akande is yet another APC leader to take a swipe at the PDP especially as the embattled party’s leaders including Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan now struggle hard to project themselves as saints asking Nigerians to vote them back into government.

Akande, who was speaking on a television interview programme said the 16 years of the PDP ruined the economy, infrastructure and brought the country to her kneels.

The former Governor of Osun State said it was regrettable that the PDP brought Nigeria to a level of anomy that had reached its peak adding that the coming of Buhari has stemmed the tide of waste and bad governance.

Akande said that corruption had become state art that no one dared complain against graft in high places.

“But we thank God that someone has come to say no to corruption. We are not yet at el-dorado but at least, we have enough reasons to say we are going there.

The former interim chairman of the APC said it was not surprising that the PDP looted Nigeria blind adding that PDP was an offshoot of the military mentality.

“What do soldiers do? They conquer and then loot their victims. Nigeria was conquered by the military and they started looting Nigeria. So, when the military left, their collaborators took over and continued with the looting.”
