Oyo Grand Chief Imam advocates integrity and institutional collaboration in meeting with Customs

The Grand Chief Imam of Oyo Land, Bilal Husayn Akinola Akeugberu, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Zonal Deputy Controller of Customs, DC Wale Moses Adewole, at the Oyo and Osun Zonal Directorate Office located at the Agodi Secretariat in Ibadan.
The visit, held at the zonal headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service, was marked by warmth and professional camaraderie, underscoring a shared commitment to institutional collaboration and national development.
Speaking during the engagement, Sheikh Akeugberu commended DC Adewole and officers of the Service for their dedication to safeguarding the nation’s economic frontiers, facilitating legitimate trade, and boosting revenue generation. He stressed that integrity, transparency, and accountability remain fundamental pillars of effective public service.
The Islamic cleric noted that Islam upholds justice, fairness, and lawful conduct in all aspects of life. He assured the Customs leadership of the Muslim community’s continued support in promoting compliance with government regulations and strengthening ethical standards in society.
In his response, DC Adewole expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as both inspiring and encouraging. He acknowledged the vital role religious leaders play in promoting discipline, patriotism, and moral consciousness among citizens.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo and Osun Zonal Directorate to professionalism, fairness, and efficient service delivery.
The meeting concluded with special prayers offered by the Grand Chief Imam for divine guidance and continued success for the Customs leadership and personnel, reinforcing a collective aspiration for a peaceful and economically progressive society.
