AN OPEN LETTER TO THE SENATE PRESIDENT(Sen Bukola Saraki)

Senate President Bukola Saraki has been reminded of his recklessness of the past against Judiciary of Kwara State under his administration as governor.

The DEFENDER reported that, in reaction to the suspension of allegedly corrupt Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Nkanu Samuel Onnoghen, Saraki said President Muhammadu Buhari had declared war against democracy in the country.

In an anonymous open letter now trending on social media, content of which has been arrested to, Saraki is asked to cast his mind back to his administration of Kwara State and stop running his mouth on President Buhari, whose action is nothing short of rule of law.

“Sir, it is not too difficult to forget but it’s quite unfortunate that, you have forgotten so soon. Sir, during your rule in Kwara State as the executive Governor, you exercise your executive powers and removed The Chief Justice of Kwara State from the office, JUSTICE RELIAT ELELU-HABEEB on the 4th of may 2009 without the approval of the NJC.

“Sir, From your own understanding of the Constitution, you think it was legal and constitutional for you to remove the Chief Justice of the state without the approval of the NJC but it is illegal and unconstitutional for the president to only suspend the CJN?

“I will so much appreciate if you can address a world press conference on this subject matter. Thanks and God bless you sir!!!”

In the meantime, Saraki is being challenged to address the world press conference on issues raised in the letter or face impeachment.
