3,000 Islamic clerics pray for peace, Tinubu’s 2027 victory in Zamfara

One of the Chief Imams, Sheikh Liman Dan Alhaji of the Gusau Central Mosque, prayed for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 elections.
More than 3,000 Islamic clerics and Chief Imams drawn from various Islamic sects across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara State have offered special prayers for the restoration of lasting peace in the state and Nigeria.
The clerics also prayed for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections and victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the polls.
The special prayer session was held on Saturday at the country home of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State. Yari is the Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The prayers focused largely on the Nigerian military and other security agencies involved in the fight against terrorism and other forms of insecurity across the country.
The clerics prayed for divine protection, strength and victory for security personnel engaged in efforts to restore peace and defeat terrorists and other criminal elements threatening the lives and property of Nigerians.

He also prayed for divine intervention against what he described as agents seeking to exploit political and religious differences to trigger crises and disrupt the electoral process.
Another Islamic scholar, Sheikh Sadiqu Saddeeq, prayed for divine wisdom, competence and success for Senator Yari in carrying out the responsibility entrusted to him by President Tinubu to mobilise support for the 2027 presidential election.
Saddeeq urged the people of Zamfara State to recognise the significance of Yari’s assignment, describing it as a major challenge not only for the former governor but also for the people of the state.
He said the performance of Zamfara in the political assignment would attract considerable attention, stressing that “all cameras are now panned directly on Senator Yari and his state, waiting to witness whether they are capable of making it or otherwise.”
Responding, Yari urged the clerics to intensify prayers for an end to terrorism and insecurity in Zamfara and Nigeria.
He specifically called for prayers seeking divine intervention to render terrorists incapable of identifying or attacking the locations and legitimate activities of innocent citizens.
Yari also urged the Islamic scholars to pray for the protection of lives and property across the country, peace of mind for Nigerians and the rapid recovery of the nation’s economic fortunes.
The gathering ended with renewed calls for sustained prayers for peace, security and a successful democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
