Only Atiku can unite Nigeria, tackle insecurity, Saraki speaks at PDP’s Sokoto campaign, says North West is PDP zone

Senate President Bukola Saraki says the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is the one capable of uniting Nigeria and tackling insecurity.

Saraki said this on Monday during the launch of the 2019 PDP presidential election campaign in Sokoto. He added that people of the northwest region have spoken by coming out en masse at the launch of the presidential campaign in the region.

The DEFENDER had earlier reported the PDP campaign for the North West zone would take off in Sokoto on Monday December 3, 2018.

“The man that can bring food to the table, the man that can fight security, the man that can unite Nigeria is Atiku Abubakar.

“I ask one young man, why has North West now become PDP, he said in 2015 security problem was only in the North East but today, the security problem is not only in the North East. No security in North West.

“The young man said ‘we are going to vote for PDP’. I said why, he said, ‘Oga there is no food. There is hunger. In the time of PDP, there was no hunger. That is why we are voting PDP.’

Also at the campaign, Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said the 2019 election is not a contest between Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari but a contest of the people.

He added that the PDP has come to make situations better and uplift the life of Nigerian citizens.

“Now, they will deceive you to say that this election is about Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari. But, the election is not between the two of them. The election is about you, it’s about you women, it is about you, the young people of Nigeria. It is about every Nigerian citizen who is suffering untold hardship on account of lack of leadership.

“So, we want to review a lot of things. For instance is your lives better now than in 2015? Is security better now than it was in 2015? Are we more united now in Nigeria than we were in 2015? So, these are the things that are on the ballot paper.

“It is not a contest between Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari.”
