Offa Robbery: 4 gang leaders accompanied Saraki to sympathise with Offa monarch, Police insists Saraki has a case to answer

*Say Saraki must explain why he purchased prohibited arms for robbers

*“It is necessary Senate President explains why he purchased prohibited arms for suspects”

*Nigerians who support NASS plots against Buhari over this crime must fear God – Lawyer

*Says, “No wonder Saraki fought to be given immunity

*Warns: Stop blackmailing the Police IGP, go and defend yourself

The lawyer said, “This thing is simple logic.  You were asked to come and explain why you bought prohibited arms for criminals who have confessed they are your thugs therefore who have gone a step further beyond political thuggery into armed robbery to the extent of taking 33 lives including of nine police officers.  Remember during that incident, Saraki joined PDP and other anti-government forces who said Buhari had lost control of the country as robbers had now taken over.  Instead of you now to go to the police and defend yourself, just like Melaye did, you now want to impeach the President.  He must cooperate with the Police and explain.  No wonder he needed immunity at all cost!”

The Police said, on Tuesday, that 48 hours after the Offa bank robbery that claimed the lives of over 30 persons, including nine policemen, four of the gang leaders accompanied the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to the palace of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye, to sympathise with him.

They also said it was necessary for the Senate President to explain why he purchased prohibited arms for the suspects, insisting he had a case to answer.

A source at the SARS office in Abuja, told print medium, Tuesday, that contrary to widely publicized report, which indicated that Saraki was invited because of his role in the robbery attack, the Senate President was only invited to explain why he allegedly purchased illegal and prohibited weapons used to kill innocent and law-abiding people.

According to the source, “it is an offence to purchase prohibited weapons for criminals in whatever guise, be it thuggery or whatever you call it.

“For your information, 48 hours after the Offa armed robbery operation and killings, the four gang leaders of the group that perpetrated the devilish act, accompanied the delegation of the Senate President to visit the Olofa of Offa to console with him over the killings.”

The source disclosed that Police investigators during interrogation of the suspects also discovered that one of the gang leaders was putting on the same ankara clothing specially invited guests wore on the day of Bukola Saraki’s daughter’s wedding in Kwara State.

“So from these and other discoveries, there is really the need for the Senate President to explain these links. Nobody is saying otherwise,’’ the source added as reported by Vanguard.

In the meantime, a respondent, Barrister Jimoh Saliu, has warned Nigerians who allow themselves to easily fall for falsified claims by the Senate President over this matter and others including those of Kwara cultists and Dino Melaye over his alleged sponsor of destabilisation of Kogi State “should be fear God because in supporting disturbance in Nigeria, you are waging war against God,” he said.

He warned that the blackmail of the Police IGP by Saraki and his NASS colleagues was enough and urged him to go and explain why Nigerians should be convinced that the confession made against him by the arrested armed robbers is false.

“Senator Shehu sani was invited on similar issue, he went and explained himself he was freed without bail.  If you continue, like Dino Melaye did, to dodge the Police who has only invited you to come and explain something to them and you don’t go, then we will believe the robbers are saying the truth,” he said.
