NSCDC nabs suspected kidnappers of 2-year-old baby in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers who attempted the kidnapping of a 2 year old baby on the 21st January 2023 at Angwa Shado a suburb of Gusau metropolitan.
Parading the suspects at the State Command Headquarters Gusau, the State Commandant , Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu said that the suspects who are meanly teens were arrested in connection with attempted forceful kidnapping of a 2 year old baby by name Hawau Masaud whom the elder sister by name Umalkaidi Shahibilu 13years was carrying during an errand in the area.
According to a statement issued by CDPRO Zamfara State Command, Ikor Oche SC, which states;
“At the process, one of the suspects whom Umalkaidi described to be wearing a black up and down clothes with spotted white who was later identified as Muslim Sani, came and forcefully snatched the baby from her and ran into an uncompleted building were the other three accomplices were hibernating.”
The State Commandant, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu said that the elder sister to the kidnapped baby raised an alarm which attracted the community members who eventually tracked the kidnapped baby to the uncompleted building where the four suspects were arrested.
The suspects include: Muslim Sani ‘M’ 25years, Abdulrazak Bashir ‘M’ 20 years, Tukur Bello ‘M’ 24years, Jafar Lawal ‘M’ 23years.
The suspects however said that they were in the uncompleted building under the influence of drugs and marijuana and denied any knowledge of the said crime and claimed to be heavenly dazed with opium and marijuana.
However, preliminary investigations revealed that the four suspects were in the crime scene and two of them were identified by the elder sister and brother to the kidnapped baby respectively as those who snatched and harbour the kidnapped baby has testified.
Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu however reiterated that the suspects will be taken to court after investigation is concluded.
He however advised parents to be vigilant and to be always mindful of the where about of their children.
Commandant MB Muazu also emphatically warned that criminals and crimes of any sort will never be tolerated by the Corps and called on the perpetrators of such odious crimes to relocate or face the wrath of the law when apprehended.
