“This is your home. You’ve lived here, married and done business with us. Nobody’s going anywhere,” Fayemi said. The Ekiti Governor also reportedly clarified the widely reported eviction order issued to the herdsmen by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, compelling them to leave Ondo forests within seven days. “The statement by the Ondo State Government had no eviction reference,” he added.

Some notable figures in Yoruba Land are making frantic effort to save the region from being seen as of haters of other tribes particularly Northerners as they refuse to join the questionable ‘Fight for Yoruba for the Emmancipation of Yoruba Land’ being championed by popular thug, Sunday Igboho, believed to be working for some vested interests in the region for political reasons.

The elements, our checks revealed, found involvement of some few Fulani among gang of criminals – which also have members of other tribes particularly Yoruba – as opportunity to vent their politically motivated anger on the tribe of President Muhammadu Buhari, who they had tried through many unsuccessful means to remove from office.  For this self-based reason, many notable Yoruba leaders across the sectors have vowed to ensure that the effort fail, adding that Sunday Igboho leading the course is well known to be political thug from the days of Rashidi Ladoja and is currently suspected to have link with an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in the region for the purpose of 2023.

Among the notable Yoruba figures who are against this move is Governor of Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.  He has vowed that it will be a fruitless effort for anybody to think that Fulani or Fulani herdsmen can be evicted from Yoruba Land.

Governor Fayemi asked the Fulani herdsmen to disregard the quit notice given to them to leave the South West, a region that is peopled by Yoruba ethnic group.

He said this while speaking at a meeting of Fulani and Yoruba leaders in Akure, Ondo State capital, on Monday.

The meeting was hosted by leaders across the country to calm frayed nerves and douse tensions occasioned by the nefarious activities of the rampaging herdsmen across the southern parts of the country.

Fayemi said Fulani herdsmen had become part and parcel of the Yoruba nation, asking those pushing for the ejection of the herdsmen to exercise restrain and caution.

“This is your home. You’ve lived here, married and done business with us. Nobody’s going anywhere,” Fayemi said

The Ekiti Governor also reportedly clarified the widely reported eviction order issued to the herdsmen by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, compelling them to leave Ondo forests within seven days.

“The statement by the Ondo State Government had no eviction reference,” he added.
