Niger’s Finance Mimister asked to account for stolen monies or face death by firing squad

Update from Niamey, Niger Republic capital, has it that a Minister of Finance has been asked by new military regime in the country to account for all the monies stolen from the people or face death by firing squad.
In a video tweeted Saturday by Harare Live, the Niger’s Minister of Finance was seen crying profusely after being given 48 hours by the coup leaders to account for the monies or be fired.
His name was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing thisvreport.
President Bazoum’s captors have suspended the country’s constitution and installed Gen Abdourahmane Tchiani as Head of State.
Niger is a key part of the African side known as the Sahel region – a belt of land that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea. The area is plagued by insurgents and beset by military regimes.
