In furtherance to his ongoing peace, unity and development project for the good of the country, Sultan of Sokoto and Amiru Mu’mineen of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has reiterated his resolve to make his maiden working visit to Akure, the Ondo State capital later this year.
Sultan Abubakar stated this while receiving in audience the National Science Association of Nigerian Universities, which paid him a courtesy visit in his Palace in Sokoto on Wednesday.
The association, in the remarks of its national President, had told its royal host how it gladened its heart to, for the first time ever, be opportune to be in physical audience with the Sultan.
The leader said meeting Sultan Abubakar was a thing of joy unquantifiable.
Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar, a natural lover of visitors, noted the role of visiting one another across tribes and religions, adding that it strengthens the tie of brotherliness and enables functionality of the individual spirit for the peace, unity and security in the land.
He said even in the last three weeks the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi Odundun II, accompanied by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae, and others on his delegation visited him in Sokoto during which time the state government of Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal threw a gala night in his honour.
He said Chief Falae gave a vote of thanks at the gala night, which, according to him, is very instructive to mean that all Nigerians are one and should reflect their commitment to peace, unity and development of the country in how they relate with one another.
The Sultan therefore said already, he had one of these reasons to visit Akure later in September this year as guest of the Deji of Akure Kingdom and encouraged other Nigerians to follow suit as, according to the nation’s number one monarch, it is the best way to achieving peace in the land.
