Nasarawa’s ex-Military Governor Bala Mande emerges PDP Zamfara PDP Chairman

Former Military Admistrator of Nasarawa State, Col. Bala Mande, has been elected new Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State.

He was elected during the party’s state delegate congress held in Gusau, on Monday 27 December, 2021.

Bala Mande had emerged as the sole candidate by affirmation at the election.

In his acceptance speech, Col. Mande promised to reposition the party and unite its members for good result.

He urged members of the to be well focused for the party’s activities ahead and pledged to carry all members along in ensuring the party succeed during the 2023 elections.

He said PDP would reclaim its mandate in 2023 as, according to him, the party would work with all members and ensure that all those that left PDP in the state will return to join hands in total mobilization of the people to vote the party.

This will be so because the APC has failed to ensure return of peace to Zamfara State and has failed to let the people of the state enjoy dividends of democracy, he said.

In his speech at the occasion, the state Deputy Governor, Mahdi Aliyu, who is also the leader of the party in the state, said PDP would be well positioned to reclaim its lost glory and be more united.

He appealed to Zamfara State government to address the critical issue of insecurity in the state as bandits are attacking and tormenting the villages on daily basis.

Mande call on the state government to hasten the resumption and reopening of public schools to allow students continue with their educational activities as, according to him, students have lost almost a whole year staying at home.

Other members elected included Faruk Ahmad – secretary, Prof Kabiru Jabaka- duputy chairman, Abdul Saminu – youth leader, Hajia Modina, women leader, while Abba Bello was elected publicity secretary.
