“I regret my role in the ADC crisis. I did not know it would reach this level. My life is in danger,” he was quoted as saying in a media report.
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafiu Bala, has publicly expressed regret over his alleged involvement in the internal crisis affecting the party, stating that the situation has escalated dangerously and left him fearing for his safety.
Speaking amid heightened tensions within the party, Bala said he did not anticipate the severity of the fallout from the ongoing disputes.
“I regret my role in the ADC crisis. I did not know it would reach this level. My life is in danger,” he was quoted as saying in a media report.
The ADC has recently been plagued by internal divisions, with rival factions trading accusations of sabotage, leadership imposition, and anti-party activities. The infighting has raised concerns about the party’s cohesion and future direction.
While the specifics of the alleged threats against Bala remain unclear, his remarks add a new dimension to the unfolding crisis, highlighting both political and personal risks tied to the dispute. Party stakeholders are yet to issue an official response regarding his claims.
In the meantime, a party member who spoke on condition of anonymity has described Gombe’s expression of regret as “a belated move no longer necessary” as, according to him, he can no longer be trusted any more.
Also, the police in the state has denied reports that Gombe’s house was set ablaze following Supreme Court ruling on Thursday April 30, 2026.
