N1.2bn corruption: Court sets N100m bail for Ex-FCT minister’s son

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted N100m bail to the son of former FCT Minister, Senator Bala Muhammed, Shamsudeen Bala who is facing N1.2bn corruption charges.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba ordered him to produce two sureties in the sum of N50m bail bond each.

The judge said the sureties may be businessmen or public servants not below the rank of assistant director.

The judge also ruled that the sureties must have a developed plot of land within Abuja or Lagos metropolis, while the defendant should deposit his international passport with the court registrar.

The court also directs the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to verity the documents for the bail.
