Morkaz Salam scholar, Nurudeen Jubreel, launches 17 academic books in Lagos, as Yusuf Adepoju, others attend

An Islamic scholar and author, Alhaji Nurudeen Moshood Jubreel Al-Ketuwiy, on Saturday, launched 17 academic books said to be helpful in the study of Arabic and Islamic Studies, all written by him.

The book launch, held in the premises of Markaz Salam, an Islamic centre operated by father of the author, Sheikh Moshood Ramadan Jubreel Al-Ketuwiy, in the Ojokoro Area of Lagos, was graced by Islamic dignitaries including the. Chief Lecturer of Academy for Islamic Propagation (ACADIP), Alhaji Yusuf Adepoju, among others.

While speaking with Journalists during the event, the author, Sheikh Nurudeen Jubreel said, the books are his contribution toward the spread of knowledge, which is going to be of great benefit to students Arabic and Islamic Studies and help reduce the spread of ignorance among the Muslim Ummah.

The author said he derived inspiration when he was in Arabic and Islamic institution, at Markaz in Agege, from Sheikh Adam Al-Ilori, who was known to be a great Islamic scholar across Yoruba and Arab lands and had written numerous books before his death couple of decades ago. Those works of Sheikh, he said, still exist and are of great benefit to student of knowledge.

Sheikh Nurudeen said the new books are a fulfillment of his promise never to let Arabic and Islamic knowledge die with the death of Sheikh Adam Al-Ilory and, that he took it upon himself to tread his path when he grew up, “which Allah has made to come to reality.”

According to the author, the books are mostly in Arabic, Islamic literacy and science.

The author, who said among his books are to help Muslims – both old and young – learn Arabic to strengthen them in their recitation of the Qur’an, also noted they also knowledge base to help reader give accurate explanation of the Qur’an, when making the tefseer.

Speaking during the book launch, the Chief Lecturer of ACADIP Nigeria, Alhaji Yusuf Adepoju, who is the guest speaker, commended the effort and brilliance of the author as a wonderful one.

“The books are much needed, with the current challenges the ummah is facing. He added that the author has given an authentic detail on every field he has written on. He prayed its going to be of great benefit in the lives of the Muslims”.

Alhaji Yusuf Adepoju, lecturer and founder of the Academic Islamic Propagation (ACADIP), gave the father of the author, Sheikh Moshood Ramadan Jubrieel Al-Ketuwiy an award of excellence for raising a great scholar, being a great example of the teaching and propagation of islam and his unwavering effort in the face of adversity.

Giving a review of the book, the Chairman of the event, Professor Khidir Abdulbaqqi Muhammad said:

“The author has given an authentic detail of some Islamic history, he has made a great research to some issues, clearing the misconceptions among the muslims. The book was written on various fields in Islamic Studies.”

The title of some of the books launched include; Sifahatul Makharijal Huruf (Characteristics of Letter Exits), Nuurul ala dar’b, The split of the moon, Ulumul Qur’an among others.

When asked about the number of books he has written so far, the author said he has written 27 books altogether, which have been in use in some Arabic institutions and also read in other countries.

He expressed the intention to circulate the books more across the world to be of benefit to the Ummah.

Some of the dignitaries who attended the event included Alhaji Isa Bello, Markaz Salam Chairman (The Bell) Alhaji Olowookere, Alhaji Muhammadu Taofiq Babatunde, Alhaji Abdulganiy Aransola, Engineer Adamson, ACADIP members.
