Midnight fuel truck explosion caused massive destruction of trucks loaded with various contents including Dangote cement, iron and cars on Friday.

The sad event has once again underscored the need for urgent attention over the three-way junction adjoining traficks coming from Sango-Ota, Ojuoore on Ogun side and Ajegunle, Alagbado on Lagos side.

“There is need for bridge in this Tollgate area. That is the best solution. All vehicles that have failed break on all three sides go down to that sloppy area and it is unfortunate.

“With a bridge, the issue of slope will erase and there will be relief. I mean, the lives that have lost at Tollgate in recent times are uncountable. Something urgent must be done,” a sympathiser told The DEFENDER when the newspaper visired the scene at 11am Friday.

None of FRSC officials was able to speak to confirm number of lives lost as at time of our visit as they were obviously very busy clearing the road for restoration of normal vehicular movement.
