Lagos MURIC’s annual Ramadan lecture holds Saturday

The Ramadan lecture for 1445AH/2024 organised by Lagos State Branch of foremost Nigeria’s human and Islamic rights group the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), will hold Yaomal-Sabt 20th Ramadan, 2445AH, which is equivalent to Saturday 30th March, 2024 at 10:00am.

The DEFENDER reports that the event taking place at the Multipurpose Hall of Rahmat Islamiyya Association, 3, Muslim Avenue, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, is expected to be attended by Muslims from across Lagos State and beyond.

With the topic: “Political & Economic Marginalization of Muslims in Southwest Nigeria: The Way Forward”, organisers of the spiritual eventual programme have meticulously selected one of the Islamic scholars in Nigeria most fitting to lead the discussion, Professor Tajudeen Yusuf of the Faculty of Management Science in the University of Lagos (UNILAG), as Guest lecturer to do justice to the subject matter.

The Chief Host at the Lagos MURIC Ramadan Lecture will be its overall founder and Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Lakin Akintola, who will be assisted by Chairman of the state branch, Dr. Busari Jamiu Muhammad Ademola, as Host.

Chairman of the day will be Alhaji Taoreed Babatunde Akande, CEO of BAT Computers Ltd, Ikeja, Lagos, while the Chairperson will be Alhaja Azeezat Adeyinka Salaudeen, CEO, Moreyink Ltd, Lagos with the Regent of Olu of Ikeja and Vice Chairman, Lagos State Traditional Rulers Council (Ikeja Division), His Highness Prince Isiaka Adekunle Apena, attending as royal father of the day.

Members of the League of Imams and Alfas Ikeja Division will be spiritual fathers at event where the Chief Imam/National Missioner of Rahmat Islamiyya Association, Sheikh Al-Imam Ishaq Adebayo Tajidny, will be the Hosting Imam amongst other distinguished guests from across Lagos State, according to a flyer sighted by this reporter.
