Kano Gov dissolves Interim Management Committees of 44 LGAs

The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dissolved the Interim Management Committees of the state 44 Local Government Areas.

In a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Mallam Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, it was said that the governor announced the dissolution of the Committees during a valedictory meeting with their respective members, held at the Africa House, Government House Nasarawa, Kano.

Governor Yusuf appreciated the outgoing members for their committement in steering affairs of the councils for half a year and assisted the state government in the implementation of its policies and programmes at the grassroot level.

He assured that the state government would continue to reckon with and carry them along in its engagements for the benefit of the Kano people.

He directed the Interim Management Committees to handover the affairs of their respective councils to Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs), who will run the councils pending the local government elections coming up October 26, 2024.

He called on the DPM to be transparent and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding their conducts as the overseers of local governments in the state.
