Kano Electoral Commission issues Certificates of Return to newly elected LG Chairmen
The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), on Sunday, presented Certificates of Return to the newly elected Chairmen of the state’s 44 Local Governments, marking the conclusion of the electoral process.
The KANSIEC Chairman, Sani Malumfashi, expressed gratitude to the security agencies, media, traditional and religious leaders for their support throughout the exercise.
He said, ”We have provided a political platform that paved the way for the commission to conduct a free,fair credible election.”
Sa’adatu Yushau-Tudun Wada, the Chairman-elect for Tudun Wada Local Government, promised equitable and unbiased treatment to her constituents regardless of party affiliations.
Her colleague for Fagge Local Government, Salisu Masu, highlighted concerns about revenue shortages due to leakages, vowing to address the issue, with a view to ramping up Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
