Senator Marafa pledges to end insecurity in two years or resign as elected governor

Senator Marafa further said If he cannot end insecurity, kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities in Zamfara State within the period of two years, he will voluntarily resign.
The Zamfara State Governorship Candidate of Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Kabir Garba Marafa, has pledged to end insecurity in the state and restore peace within two years if elected as the governor. Failure to fulfill the promise, he said, he would resign.
Senator Marafa stated this while speaking to members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists Correspondents Chapel at his residence in Gusau on his emergence as the NDC governorship candidate in the state and his desire to make a difference, if elected in 2027.
The gubernatorial candidate said that he had been Commissioner and Senator for many years at different times and so that he knew the problems of the state and how to tackle them
He said, “if elected as governor in the coming general elections, within a period of two years I will end insecurity in the state.”
Senator Marafa further said If he cannot end insecurity, kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities in Zamfara State within the period of two years, he will voluntarily resign.
He then solicited for the support of the people to ensure the success of all NDC candidates at the 2027 elections, assuring a peaceful, progressive and viable state if elected .
He further said, “All other critical sectors of the economy would be given due attention particularly as to empower the youth, women and venerable in the society.”
