IDF’s claims that Hamas’ rockets killed 500 Palestinians in Gaza hospital not verified – BBC
The Israeli authorities have claimed that the explosion that killed over 500 Palestinians in Arab Hospital in Gaza a few days ago was a result of a failed rocket launch by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another resistance group in the enclave, BBC reports according to Muslim News.
Israel’s military has published what it described as evidence of the Palestinian rocket, rather than one of its own munitions being the cause.
Speaking with the BBC, Daniel Hagari, a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), says communication from Gaza discussed misfired rocket.
The British Broadcasting Corporation, however, posted on her verified X handle that she has not been able to verify Hagari’s claims
Meanwhile, multiple sources, including the Islamic Jihad and of course, Hamas, also debunked the claims, insisting that the innocent Palestinians were killed by Israel strikes.
Israel has history of killings and denying as, until it was indicted by official investigations for killing Al Jazeera’s broadcasting journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in May 2022, it denied responsibility.
Israeli forces had shot dead Al Jazeera’s journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the occupied West Bank, according to witnesses and the Palestinian health ministry.
Abu Akleh, a longtime TV correspondent for Al Jazeera Arabic, was killed while covering Israeli army raids in the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.
In the like manner, after Netanyau’s aide had admitted its soldiers bombed the Gaza hospital believing it served as base for alleged terrorists but later deleted the tweet, Israel Defence Forces (IDF) claimed the hospital was the result of misfire by Islamic Jihad.
The Islamic Jihad had however denied saying the IDF’s claim was baseless.
Apart from United States, which had kicked against International Criminal Court (ICC) from investing the killing of Al Jazeera Journalist Shireenn Abu Akleh last year and which is standing with Israel’s narrative of “lies” and “unverified claims” that Hamas bombed the church, very many meaningful world leaders including presidents of Turkiye, Egypt, African Union (AU), Iran, Russia and more believe the Gaza hospital was bombed by Israel regardless of its denial.
