The Coronavirus situation in the United States of America is no longer funny although it has never been taken with levity since the war started, our US sources have said.

However, for a “super power” like America, despite diverse approaches, to continue to fail in effort to slow the dangerous pandemic its President, Donald Trump, took to be cheap initially thinking he had the curing vaccine, now losing over 1,000 of its people to death by it in one day, there is now fire on the mountain in Washington and everybody is more thinking about how to run, run and run.

This is so horrific that deaths that were 6,059 early Friday had as at late same day jumped to over 7,000.

But all hope is not lost, because, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday recommended that people wear “cloth face coverings,” in places where it is hard to maintain social distancing — like grocery stores.

Officials say surgical masks or respirators should be reserved for health care workers.

President Donald Trump announced the recommendations but said he was choosing not to wear one.

It was however not clear what the motif was for President Trump to have taken such decision that some thought to be suicidal.

The U.S. recorded more than 1,000 deaths between Thursday and Friday, according to NBC News’ tally. Globally, the death toll is more than 59,100, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. economy lost 701,000 jobs in March, according to data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate soared to 4.4 percent from 3.5 percent.

Nigeria

As at Friday night, Nigeria’s data, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), stood at 190 confirmed cases, 20 recoveries and two deaths.
