Group in Niger Republic shares foot item to flood victims in Maradi
*As Military Governor of Maradi extolled for suoport

A Maradi, Republic of Niger-based Islamic social organisation, widely known as Association Islamique Rayuwar Matar (AIRM), has flagged off its humanitarian distribution of food to no fewer than 200 beneficiaries comprising categories of vulnerable women selected from among victims of flood disaster.
Distribution of the food assistance was held at Raudatul IbadurRahman School Maradi, Niger Rpublic, on Sunday 22nd December 2024.
Speaking while flagging off the exercise, Chairperson of the association, Malama Khadejar Abubacar, said the palliative was procured in collaboration with ‘Big Up Project’ from Dubai and facilitated through a woman based in the United Arab Emirates’ economic nerve centre under Melani Group.
According to her, items distributed include bags of 25 kg rice, cans of 2 litre cooking oil, cartons of sphagetti as well as blankets as cold season has already set in.
The chairperson, while appreciating the donor, also called on wealthy and corporate organisations in the country to emulate the kind gesture as she implored the beneficiaries to use the assistance judiciously for the attainment of the set goals and objectives.
She then used the medium to thank Maradi Military Governor for the support and cooperation rendered to her association which has helped in their efforts to transform the lives of womenfolk for better.
She also requested the government to prioritize the provision of vocational skills to the youths so that they would be self dependent and productive members of the community.
In a remark the Governor for Maradi Region, Controleurn General De Police Issoufou Maman, commended the association for complementing government’s efforts in the regard as, according to him, government alone could not cater for humanitarian needs hence the necessity for all hands to be on deck for realization of the national unity, peace and development.
Some of the beneficiaries,who also responded, thanked both the donor and the association for the aids and pledged to use them judiciously as anticipated.
The occasion was attended by people from all walks of life within and outside Maradi Region, respectively.
