Govs Matawalle, Zulum meet in Kano, laud President Buhari at meeting reviewing security situation in Zamfara, Borno

His Excellency, the Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON (Shattiman Sakkwato) has met with his Borno State counterpart Babagana Umara Zulum at his Kano residence in order to share and review the security situation in the two states towards restoring lasting peace.
During the meeting, efforts of the two governors in addressing the security situation affecting their respective states and the dimensions, in which the terrorists are carrying out attacks on innocent citizens, were discussed.
Their parley also touched on area the need for total cooperation of citizens in the affected states is seen as crucial in order to defeat the insurgents.
Both governors also compared notes and shared ideas on the mode of their operations in handling the security situation with a view to using both approaches to achieve the set objective.
The two state leaders’ meeting also agreed to share genuine intelligence in order to maintain firm stance in dealing with obstructors of government efforts to restoring the lost peace and maintenance of security of citizens’ lives and their properties.
The governors also agreed to deal decisively with anybody found undermining their efforts on peace building especially from state as well as non-state actors.
They noted the roles of traditional institutions in the restoration of peace and agreed to work closely with the monarchs.
They, however, noted the unpleasant attitude of some traditional rulers, who allow themselves to be used by mischief makers to thwart the efforts of government and security operatives by refusing to provide to security agents intelligence that will lead to the arrest of criminals in their domain but continue to cover them unlawfully to harm the larger society.
President Muhammadu Buhari received accolades from the two state chief executives for the support being extended to their states in tackling the carnages.
