Accompanied by journalists including state Correspondent of The DEFENDER,  the Governor started the inspection with the storm drainage project that cuts across the Okere, Marine quarters, and main market axis of Warri.

While addressing the press, he stated empathically that the work rate of the contractors was poor considering the looming danger of an impending flood.

He also pointed out that most of the canals that are supposed to act as exit channels have been blocked by buildings erected on them. He promised to liaise with the permanent secretaries of Land and Housing to see how the issue can be resolved.

On the course of the tour, the habitants of Marine quarters pleaded with his Excellency on the need of a transformer. The Governor in his benevolence character promised the people that in a period of two weeks the transformer would be delivered to them through the Executive Chairman of Warri South.

Furthermore, the Governor also made a stopover at the Warri City Township Stadium to ascertain the level of Work done. He said he was impressed with the job but complained about some clauses in the contract which he insisted must be reviewed in other to match the desired outcome of the government.
