Future Assured trains 500 youths in paint making, rabbitry, others in Kano

In fulfillment of the promise of Wife of the President to the people of Kano State, which she made to them during the graduation of 2200 women, who acquired skills in the state recently, a second batch of beneficiaries have received training in the areas of paint making, leather works, barbing, as well as rabbitry and catfish farming.

According to a statement by media aide of the Wife of the President, Mr. Suleiman Haruna, copy of which was made available to The DEFENDER on Monday, the training, which was conducted for male youth beneficiaries, is consistent with the target of Mrs Buhari’s programme of Future Assured, which are basically meant to develop the economy of women, youths and children.

Mrs Buhari’s message at the opening ceremony was delivered by the Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme in Kano State, Mrs Ramatu Mukhtar Rabiu.

In the message, she charged the beneficiaries to use the skills they had acquired in building sustainable businesses to pull themselves out of poverty and help other youths.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Mrs Buhari for giving them the opportunity to chart an economic course for their lives by providing them with useful and sustainable skills.

A breakdown of the skills taught during the training indicates that barbing, rabbitry and catfish farming received 100 beneficiaries each, leatherworks received 50, while paint-making received the highest beneficiaries with 150.

The weeklong training, which commenced Monday 31st October, 2017 was concluded Friday, 3rd November, 2017.
