FOR THE PEACE OF NIGERIA: Sultan leads NSCIA special prayer gathering for nation’s peace, security

The event was organised by the Council for Peace, Security and Stability in Nigeria in collaboration with the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) as part of the efforts to seek divine intervention for the peace and stability of the country.
The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, on Wednesday September 30, 2026, attended a special prayer gathering organised by the Council for Peace, Security and Stability in Nigeria.
The gathering, held at the National Mosque, Abuja, the Nigeria’s capital, brought together traditional rulers from across Northern Nigeria, prominent Islamic scholars, clerics in the country and other distinguished guests.
The programme featured the recitation and completion of the Holy Qur’an, known in Hausa Language as Saukar Al-Qur’ani and in Yoruba Language as Isokale Al-Qur’ani, followed by special prayers for peace, unity and the continued progress of the country.
The gathering also highlighted the importance of prayer, unity and collective responsibility in promoting peace, security and harmony across Nigeria.
