428 Zamfara pilgrims to be airlifted as 1st flight leaves Saturday – Commission
By IBRAHIM KANOMA, Gusau
The Zamfara State Hajj Commission is to commence airlifting of its over 3100 pilgrims with first batch of 428 on Saturday May 27, 2023.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman Zamfara Commission, Hon. Lawal Isah Abdullahi, while updating journalists in Gusau, on the preparation for this year’s Hajj.
He said adequate arrangements had been made to ensure that the walfare and comfort of pilgrims are adequately taken care of both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
He appealed to the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors as Saudi Arabian government would not tolerate any act of indiscipline, “because their laws are very strict on any act of misconduct in the holy land”.
Hon. Abdullahi appealed to National Hajj Commission to allocate more seats to Zamfara as more intending pilgrims are still coming after the state’s earlier allocation exhausted.
He further disclosed that all necessary documents and facilities are in possession of the commission to ensure that it neither lacks anything nor suffers hitches during the religious exercises.
He expressed confidence on the ability of his Commission to carry out its responsibility deligently, our Zamfara State Correspondent, Ibrahim Kano, who attended the press conference, reported.
