Fight of Biafra and their Governor as MASSOB demands Fayose release detained Igbo traders in Ekiti

In what appears to be a fight between some Biafra people and their “Biafra governor” although from other land, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has called on Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, to release some Igbo traders unlawfully detained in his state since December, 2016.

Recall Governor Ayode Fayose is the only Yoruba from outside Igbo Land who not only declared himself as member of Biafra but had also been so decorated by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

In a statement issued by the group’s National Director of Information, Samuel Edeson, and made available to newsmen in Awka, MASSOB expressed worry over the delay the legal process of the case had suffered since December last year.

The group said it was not expected that the victims would suffer such fate in a state saddled by Fayose, who it described as a friend of Biafra and the masses.

While listing the detainees to include David  Reuben, Onyemechi Nwanneka,  Christopher Godwin, David Chukwu,  Sunday  Agbo, Sunday  Mgbiri, Chisoba Obiekwe, Nwobodo James, Akeredolu Soji, MASSOB expressed optimism that the fate of the victims would change any time Fayose would intervene.

“Every effort to secure their release are being frustrated by Ekiti state security agents. These men are breadwinners of their respective families,” the statement read.

“As the people of Biafra are celebrating Governor Fayose of Ekiti state as a friend and brother to  Biafra, MASSOB urges him to intervene on this unfortunate plight of our brothers detained unlawfully in his state.

” We also appeal for their release to rejoin with their respective families. In the spirit of the new political romance between the people of Biafra and Governor Fayose of Ekiti state, MASSOB under the leadership of our leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu is optimistic that Gov Fayose will not disappoint the people of Biafra.

“Our people should no longer suffer in the hand and land of our perceived friends. MASSOB also advised Igbos living in Ekiti state to be law abiding and adhere to Igbo traditional culture of ‘live and let live”.
