FEC meeting put off as Buhari receives committee report on alleged corruption against SGF, DG NIA

Presidency says the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting exoected to be presided over on Wednesday by President Muhammadu Buhari would not hold.

This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja Wednesday morning by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

No reason was given for the cancellation of the FEC meeting.

However, Adesina said the President would receive Wednesday afternoon the report of the investigation committee into the allegations of corruption against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke.

In the two-paragraph statement, Mr. Femi Adesina saud, “The meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) will not hold today.

“President Muhammadu Buhari, will however, receive the Report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke, headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, at 12 noon, in his office.”
