February 14: INRI splashes members, journalists with empowerment, as Primate Ayodele insists Buhari must step down for Saraki
It was not just a day for the usual service of singing praises and worship. It was a day packed with more as, aside worship, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele of Inri Evangelical and Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos made many Nigerians around him happy with huge surprises in form of awards and empowerment that he did for members of his church, appreciation of support by some media practitioners including Mr. Seye Kehinde of City People, rewarding some police officers and men for what he described as their commitment to security of lives and property in their given environment.
Among the splashes of the surprises are a N1.5 million Jeep Toyota car sold to a member for N20,000 and a N400,000 worth Honda car sold to another for N6,000. Ayodele did more as he empowerment to many other people stems from N250,000 upward and he said it is in the spirit of Godliness that he chooses to make people happy on given occasions.
Ayodele, who did not speak much to press on the Wednesday event, however insisted the Lord has revealed to him that Nigeria will sing if President Muhammadu Buhari gets back to office for second term and urged the President to step down for people like Senate President Bukola Saraki particularly, saying he saw that Saraki will give Nigeria a big surprise as he will consolidate on the achievements of the President when he becomes the President of Nigeria.
Primate Ayodele however did not say Buhari has not perform but that the Lord has asked him to say that he should step down and on the lead among people to step down for is Bukola Saraki.
Ayodele had said even before Buhari came to power that he would fight corruption and try his best in getting Nigeria better but that his administration would be faced with a lot of challenges, which, many later described as normal in situation where a President chooses to face fight against corruption headlong. In trying to fight corruption therefore, which is said to be a very difficult task yet must be engaged in to get the nation properly on its feet, corruption will fight back and the way it is fighting back presently, it is not fighting back because it knows it is right thing to exist in the life of Nigeria but it is fighting because it just does not like the face of the man fighting him as the only President in last 33 years to fight corruption with resilience.
