Emir of Keffi pays condolence visit to Emir of Zazzau over mosque incident

The Emir of Keffi and Deputy Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, has paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, in his palace in Zaria, the Zazzau Emirate headquarters in Kaduna State.
Emir Yamusa III confirmed this to The DEFENDER, on Wednesday, while appreciating Monday’s visit of the leader of the Northern Nigerian and National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria, Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar to the Emirate.
The visit of the Emir of Keffi, which happened on Saturday a day after the incident, was said to have been prompted by the tragic collapse of a portion of Zaria Central Mosque, which led to the death of eight worshippers and injury on several others on Friday August 11, 2023.
The Emir expressed deep sorrow and solidarity as he said he would be unshaken in standing by Sarkin Zazzau Bamalli during the difficult time.
A statement posted by Keffi Emirate Council on its verified Facebook social media page on Monday also confirmed the visit saying, “Their visit was filled with shared compassion and a bond of unity as they both mourned the lives lost in the devastating incident.
“The Emir further offered prayers for the souls of the departed and their families.
“The Emir of Zazzau Mall. Ahmed Nuhu Bamali CFR on his part expressed his gratitude for the visit and the support from Emir of Keffi and the people of Keffi Emirate.
“He further appreciated the compassion and solidarity shown by Keffi Emirate.
“May Almighty bless Zazzau Emirate and Keffi Emirate. Amin”.
