Elections: Ogun Police sets up Joint Operation Room, release phone numbers to public

The Ogun State Police Command has set up a Joint Operation Room (JOR) consisting of representatives of all security agencies ahead of coming general elections to ensure violence free and credible exercise.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, made this known in a statement he issued in Abeokuta at the weekend copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER.

Oyeyemi said the JOR is staffed by representatives various security agencies and that it will provide members of the public the opportunity to lodge complaint of any offence or incidence on any of the election days.

“As part of the preparation for the forthcoming general elections scheduled to hold on 16th February and 2nd March 2019 respectively, the Ogun State Police Command has set up a Joint Operation Room (J.O.R), staffed by representatives of all security agencies where members of the public can lodge complain of any offence or incidence on any of the election days.”

Six dedicated telephone lines have been assigned to the operation room; members of the public are advised to reach the joint operation through any of the lines, the Police said.
