Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), has officially announced its collaboration with ELFIKE COLLECTIVE’s in the Grand World Premiere of the movie “The Wedding Party’ to hold on Saturday November 26, at The Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking on the partnership, Executive Producer, Mo Abudu said “Nigerians have a warm affection for Dubai. It is a favourite for destination weddings, family holidays and business trips. We are proud of this partnership and we look forward to treating some lucky cinema goers to an unexpected discovery of a city that we all love”.
Mouth watering incentives is expected during the premier as guests will be walking away with amazing prizes, including luxury accommodation courtesy Arabian Falcon, theme park passes courtesy IMG Worlds of Adventure, and helicopter rides courtesy Alpha Tours Helicopter Rides. Dubai Tourism will also be giving away other VVIP gifts to lucky premiere guests.
Other attractions are the unique “Win with The Wedding Party Promo” where real life couples-to-be can win anything from Bridal Make-Up by Zaron Cosmetics, Cakes by Tosan, KOTS Catering, complementary venue hire courtesy of Dorchester Events Centre, Grooms’ Styling by Mai Atafo to Invitation Design by The Wedding Store.
In a media parley shortly after the screening of the movie, last week at FilmHouse cinema, Lekki, Executive Producer, Mo Abudu said, “After attending a wedding party sometime last year, and when I looked at all the drama that was going on in this wedding, I said to myself, a film has to be made about a Nigeria wedding party. Weddings are done all over the world, but there is something special about this particular one. In it you can virtually pick all the fun, intrigues that are characterized in Nigeria. That was the inspiration. I also think it is important for our journey and each journey we take so far in Ebonylive TV is for our stories to travel and everyone that has to watch this film has to be able to connect to it. It is a wedding but it is a wedding with a difference.”
For Kemi Adetiba the director of the movie, “It’s quite an experience but the transition from music to film directing is not much of a challenge rather what I worked on is the stamina to hold on till the end. It’s a compelling one though, handling the casts and crew. The experience was awesome. All the music and soundtrack therein is intentional to add up. We wanted it to be part of the movie and not a priority. Everywhere we have been, people comment and say the movie gets them dancing all along with all the Nigerian music featured in the movie.
The Wedding Party is a hilarious comedy film produced by Ebonylive TV and directed by Kemi Adetiba with notable Nollywood cast that include Richard Mofe Damijo, Iretiola Doyle, Sola Sobowale, Ayo Makun (AY), Afeez Ayetoro among others. Others are Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Ikechukwu, Somkele, Beverly Naya, Emma O my God and others.
