“We also insist that regardless of a formal recognition by the government, the people of Isinkan will continue to decide who their ruler is till eternity in accordance with our tradition and customs.”
Princes and Princesses of Isinkan Kingdom in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have dissociated themselves from the purported installation of one Henry Adeyeye as high chief by the Deji of Akure.

Rising from their emergency meeting on Sunday February 23, 2025 in Isinkan, the Omowas unanimously said, from time immemorial, Isinkan is ruled by its traditional ruler which is known as Oba Iralepo.
They said the purported High Chief Iralepo that the Deji plans to impose on them is alien to the customs and tradition of Isinkan Kingdom and rejected it outrightly.
The Olori Omowa, Prince (Pa) Durojaye Ariyo, said the Deji is only trying to create crisis in the state capital by his action.
“No Deji of Akure has ever installed Oba Iralepo of Isinkan let alone High chief. We will resist this shenanigans with all our strenghts.
“We take cognisance of the court of appeal judgement but there is a right of appeal. Why is the Deji in a rush?
“We also insist that regardless of a formal recognition by the government, the people of Isinkan will continue to decide who their ruler is till eternity in accordance with our tradition and customs.
“The Deji is only been driven by desperation to cover up all his misdeeds on our land.”
