Deeper Life Pastor, Kumuyi, reportedly speaks against Christians who kill Muslims, Hausa, Fulani over “killings” of members

*Beware of trick to war – He warns

“Ok, if the invasion of a church by gunmen to kill worshippers triggers you to begin attacking and killing Muslims and even burning down their mosques, who should Ozubulu community people have attacked when gunmen killed dozens of worshippers in a Catholic Church there last year?  When bombs were going off almost every Friday in mosques in Kano few years ago, which people should the people of Kano have attacked?…Zamfara people are also being killed by the same variant of Dogs of War, so who should they also revenge on?”

In a country where the media are now believed to be completely compromised hyping negative news doing so favours their chosen interest to run down tribe, religion or political party they hate but kill such negative news when it is to their disfavour of their interest, some Concerned Citizens say it is understandable why an address credited to Deeper life Bible Church’s General Superintendent, Pastor Folorunso Kumuyi, not favouring the interest of the Nigerian Media or “their sponsors” over the security situation in the country has not met the standard of the news they hype.

They noted that, “Had this Kumuyi’s statement favoured the Nigerian Media, they would not have minded what the source is, be it beer parlour gossip, they would have distributed it among themselves like they did against Alhaji Ciroma, leader of Miyetti Allah in North Central and they all of the newspapers particularly PUNCH, Premium Times and The Nation would have published it.

“When the Press of a country is compromised in time when fight against corruption and insurgency is at critical stage like this, it portends danger demanding the government must not look back in standing its ground against all of them including the religious and ethnic leaders we have heard talking out of hands acting on the same compromised reports of the media even after one of them as important as Premium Times has confessed and apologised to fakeness of its news report on the situation in Plateau”.

In the address, reduced to a mere blog report, published by Marylinmag.com, (with reference marylinmag.com/let-loose-dogs-vandalism-death-beware-tricks-war-j-f-kumuyi/), Pastor Kumuyi was said to have warned Christians of Nigeria to be wary of those who kill for political reasons to resurrect religious war.

But one of the Concerned Citizens, who pointed attention the attention of The DEFENDER to the blog, said he was not surprised that “you Nigerian Media will not carry such news because it does not favour you.”

When told that The DEFENDER was not what he thought about Nigeria media, he said, “Until you carry the report then I will change my perception only of you but not of all the media”.

It took us time to publish the report credited to Pastor Kumuyi being that our own newspaper (online) must get to the root of any matter occurrence before it publishes to the public.  Due to hitches in our path to speaking to Kumuyi directly and considering the fact that the report would rather than cause problem contribute to national peace and cohesion, we have to go ahead on Saturday deciding that it must be published but credited the source, particularly when again, another concerned citizen, a Christrian and social media activist, Funmi Fowowe, had to send the link to us again as another push.

Pastor Kumuyi is one Nigerian pastor not known to have his eyes on the glitters of the world such as owning a jet or being one of boastful richest pastor of the world.

The founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, according to Marylinmag.com, speaking to Nigerians about the situation of the country, said if Christians go about killing their Hausa, Fulani or Muslim neighbours and proceed to burn down their mosques just because they think the killers of their own members were Muslims, he asked whom they would expect Muslims in the North East to kill or what they would expect them to do for the fact that Muslims are turned casualties of bomb attacks till present.

In the address titled, “They let loose the dogs of vandalism and death: Beware of the tricks to war”, Kumuyi reportedly said as below:

“Be vigilant, wary of those who kill for political reasons to resurrect religious war”.

“When commissioned Dogs of War attack your communities dressed in a particular form to mislead you, such that they even get into a church building to knock off a certain number of people, what do you do?  Do you go about killing Hausas and Fulanis in your immediate environment and even proceed to burn down their mosques just simply because you think or believe that the killers were Muslims? What if the killers are what I refer to above as Commissioned Dogs of War?

“Ok, if the invasion of a church by gunmen to kill worshippers triggers you to begin attacking and killing Muslims and even burning down their mosques, who should Ozubulu community people have attacked when gunmen killed dozens of worshippers in a Catholic Church there last year?

When bombs were going off almost every Friday in mosques in Kano few years ago, which people should the people of Kano have attacked?

“Up till now “Boko Haram” suicide bombers detonate and kill themselves with bombs alongside others in mosques in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, who should the people in those towns or villages attack or whose property or worship centre should they burn down?

“Zamfara people are also being killed by the same variant of Dogs of War, so who should they also revenge on?

“All killings are bad, reprehensible and condemnable. But it shouldn’t be deliberately turned into an ethno-religious propaganda tool for mischievous political ends. There are certain persons or groups who would rather have the country go up in flames than to have the country focusing on how much they stole and ruined the country. These killings benefit only them.

“Don’t fall for their antics!” Kumuyi warned.
