Dare devil kidnap gang member killed in Delta, 13 victims rescued, AK 47 recovered

A member of dare devil kidnap gang has been killed during gun encounter with operatives of Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command.
According to Our Correspondent, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ali Ari, disclosed this during a briefing in Asaba, the state capital, on Sunday.
CP Ari said he received a call that the gang intercepted a 14-seat passenger bus with registration number M831-FJK, conveying sixteen occupants, along Aniagbala community via Ubulu-Uku expressway in Aniocha South Local Government Area, kidnapped 13 of the passengers and took them to the bush
The police boss directed that the District Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku Division to lead his men into the bush and ensure that the victims were rescued unhurt and also arrest the suspects.
The DPO, CSP Mohammed Naallah, swiftly led a combined team of the police operatives and vigilantes into the bush and gave the hoodlums a hot chase.
During the exchange of gunfire that ensued, one of the suspects was hit by security bullet and died on the spot, while others escaped with bullet injuries.
The DEFENDER reports that all the 13 kidnap victims were rescued alive, unhurt and while one AK 47 rifle was also recovered.
The bush is still being combed with a view to arresting the other gang members that fled.
