Convention: PDP presidential aspirants in last minute lobby for delegates
Ahead of Saturday’s national convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, presidential aspirants of the party are adopting different strategies to woo delegates to their side.
Already the city of Port Harcourt is beefed of activities, as guest across the country are trooping into their different hotels.
Groups mobilizing for different aspirants are not relenting on their duties, as they intensify efforts at ensuring that they woo as many delegates as possible.
Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s group has already embarked on door-to-door campaigns, as one of them cited at the Hotel Presidential late Friday evening, according to a media report, said they used their door-to-door campaigns to visit delegates in their different hotels in Port Harcourt to educate them on the need to elect their principal as the presidential candidate of PDP for 2019 election.
A group called Niger Delta Mandate, has already printed several flyers with an inscription, “Vote Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for president 2019, the future is now” which is being given to every guest in the hotel.
It was gathered that aspirants are equally camping their delegates in some of the hotels in the town.
It was also gathered that many aspirants will fly into the state later this evening, after they had joined the PDP in a protest in Abuja this morning, but their emissaries were already on ground to do background jobs.
