Buhari to go on 10-day annual leave

President Muhammadu Buhari will begin a 10-day annual vacation with effect from August 3, 2018.

For the period of his holiday, the President will be in the United Kingdom.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, made the announcement via his twitter handle on Wednesday, adding that the President had informed the leadership of the two chambers of the National Assembly in compliance with the constitutional provision.

“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, a letter has been transmitted to the President of the Senate, and the Speaker, House of Representatives to that effect.

“While the President is on vacation, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be in acting capacity as President,” Shehu stated.
