Buhari arrives Katsina, heads to Daura for Sallah
President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Katsina ahead of the Sallah celebration.
The Presidential Air force jet touched down at the Umaru Musa Yaradua International Airport at about 4.05 pm.
Buhari was received at the airport by the state governor Aminu Masari, Secretary to state government, Mustapha Inuwa alongside other top government officials.
The emir of Katsina, Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, and some of his traditional council members were present as well.
Buhari after pleasantries was airlifted by a helicopter to Daura his home town and country home where he is expected to observe the Sallah holidays.
During his stay, the President is expected to attend the ritual Eid Prayers and host guests who may come for sallah homage during the period.
Security is beefed up across the state as Policemen and Soldiers were visibly seen along major roads and roundabouts.
Already, the state governor Aminu Masari has taken to twitter @GovernorMasari to welcome the president @MBhuari: “as we, today, await your arrival to Katsina state enroute to Daura, our prayers are always with you Sir.”
Meanwhile, the President was received in Daura by the Emir of Daura Umar Faruk at the Presidential Helipad few meters from the president country home.
