BREAKING: UniAbuja Professor, children kidnap victims rescued

The Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command in collaboration with other sister security agencies have rescued kidnapped University of Abuja professors and children.
Spokesman of police in Abuja, DSP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that the rescue happened Friday morning of 5 November 2021, adding that they were all rescued unhurt and safe.
Gunmen abducted six people early on 2 November, 2021 from the university near the Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, police said.
“All abducted victims of the university of Abuja were rescued and reunited with their families through a joint operation with other security agencies,” Adeh said.
The DEFENDER gathered the UniAbuja Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Katsina Umaru, who first confirmed the rescue, appreciated the effort of the joint security operatives.

Also, the spokesman of the university, Habeeb Yakoob while confirming the release by 8:40am Friday morning, reportedly said there was wild jubilation on campus as the news broke.
