BREAKING: President Buhari commissions first Nigeria’s Modular Refinery tomorrow

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Muhammadu Buhari, will on Tuesday November 24 2020 commission the 5,000 barrel per day (BPD) Modular Refinery in Imo State, South East Nigeria.
This was as confirmed to The DEFENDER on Monday by Digital and Social Media Aide to the President, Lauretta Onochie.
According to Onochie, President Buhari also perform the ground breaking ceremony for the second phase of the local refinery project, which in the end will earn the country a higher capacity of 45,000 barrel per day refinery.
This refinery is a joint project of Waltersmith Limited and Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
“Tomorrow November 24, 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari will Commission a 5,000 BPD Modular Refinery in Imo State and break ground on the Second Phase of the Project, a 45,000 BPD Refinery. A Joint project of Waltersmith Ltd and Nigeria Content development and monitoring board (NCDMB),” Lauretta Onochie said.
Special guest of honour at the event will be the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipire Sylva.
The commissioning of the 5,000bpd modular refinery and ground breaking for the 45,000bpd refinery will take place at the site of Waltersmith Refinery, Ibigwe Field, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area, Imo State.
The DEFENDER reports that with the take off tomorrow of this project, which is expected to lift 23 trucks of petroleum products daily from the South East state based refinery, the Buhari Administration assisted development projects in the country increase by one.
