BREAKING: Police invites Saraki for questioning, as arrested criminals say they are his thugs

*This is in connection with Offa robbery, Force PRO tells The DEFENDER

Things may not be rosy for Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki lately as he is said to have some answers to give regarding the recent Offa robbery incident which killed a huge number of people including police officers.

To this end, the Nigeria Police Force has invited the Senate President in connection with the robbery which recently occurred in Offa, Kwara State.

This was after he was mentioned by five of the suspects who confessed to the crime.

Five gang leaders indicted Saraki after they confessed that they were political thugs of the Senate President and the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfattah Ahmed.

The Force Public Relations Officer (Force PRO), ACP Jimoh Moshood, in a statement on Sunday said the bank robbery led to the death of 33 persons including some pregnant women and nine police officers.

“The Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki is being invited by the Nigeria Police Force to report to the Force Intelligence Response Team office at Guzape, Abuja to answer to the allegations levelled against him from the confessions of the Five (5) Gang Leaders and some of the other 17 suspects arrested for direct involvement and active participation in the Offa Bank Robbery and the gruesome killing of 33 innocent persons which includes some pregnant women and nine Police personnel,” the police statement read in part.

When The DEFENDER called the Force PRO, ACP Jimoh Moshood, to for clarification as to whether or not the latest development has connection with the earlier arrested cultists said to have been transferred to Abuja and over which Saraki had raised the alarm of police going to implicate him with, the Police spokesman did not pick his calls.

But a text message was later sent to him asking, “This confession for which Saraki is invited, is it different fro the earlier cultists issue?”

Replying to our text Sunday evening, Moshood, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said, “Sir, yes.  This is in connection with Offa Banks Robberies.  Thanks.”
