BREAKING: Nigeria’s Mr Integrity, ex-President Buhari, is dead!

The immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has passed away.
He died in a London hospital afternoon of Sunday July 13, 2025 at the age of 82.
His Presidency’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a short statement to The DEFENDER Sunday afternoon.
“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHIRRAJIUUN.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
“May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin,” prayed Garba Shehu.
Buhari, a Retired Major General of the Nigerian Army, was Military Governor North Eastern State, Federal Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigeria Army, Military Head of State (January 1, 1984-August 25, 1985), Chairman Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) and became second Nigerian ever to rule as military Head of State and turned out later to fairly elected two terms as civilian President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (May 29, 2015-May 29, 2023)
