BREAKING: Lagos traditional body installs Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as “Obalefun”

Lagos State’s youthful and energetic political figure, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has been installed into the special “Omoluabi” royal elite circle of Ijo Olorisa Parapo in the Badagry Division of the state.

By this, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the state and 2027 gubernatorial hopeful was crowned with the chieftaincy title of “Obalefun” of the body at a coronation ceremony attended by Baales on authority of the Akran of Badagry and a Permanent Vice Chairman of Lagos State Council of Chiefs.

The Baales, who attended the event with one of the IBILE’s stamps of authority to underscore importance of the new Lagos chief as a blood of the soil, included Chief Babatunde Wusu, who is the Onitiju Baale of Yovokome Boekoh, Badagry.

IBILE is an acronym for the five Divisions that made up of Lagos State socio-culturally and politically. They are Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe (IBILE). Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour comes from the Popo Aguda area of one the Divisions called the Lagos Island and his family background is well known, accordingly.

At the event, which held on Saturday April 12, 2025 in Badagry, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, popularly called GRV, was also inducted as the Peace Ambassador of the Ijo Olorisa Parapo by virtue of his roll I the advancement of social welfare, peace, development of the people and the state environment.

Gbadebo was on ground for the installation on Saturday accompanied by his family, particularly his father and wife.
