BREAKING: Amaechi joins 2023 presidential race

Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation and Dan Amana Daura, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi, has declared his interest to run for the presidency in 2023.

Amaechi disclosed his intention at the Rivers All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Port Harcourt Stadium.

The development follows his initial denial during a recent interview with a television station.

He is to join other candidates namely Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Govenor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi, former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and others to slug it out for the APC ticket.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) emphasised parties must conduct primaries before June 3.
