Before my declaration for Nigeria’s Presidency, I did my home work well, Amaechi speaks as Gov Lalong, Adams Oshiomhole says ‘he’s a man we can trust’
Update on Saturday declaration by one of Nigeria’s most effective ministers of the Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, Federal Government, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has it that the country’s Transportation Minister consulted widely before declaring his intention to partake in the race to succeed his boss come 2023.
Reading a letter titled: ‘Forward with courage’ at the Thanksgiving organised by the APC in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Amaechi said he was qualified to run.
He said he had been in governance for 23 years from being a Speaker for eight years to being, for another eight years, a Governor and now since 2015, seven years running, has been a substantive Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The DEFENDER reports that Amaechi, no doubt, is significant in the administration because of his noticeable achievements that are considerably landmarks, mainly the driving of the railways revolution of the Buhari’s Administration that has become a thing of national pride, as well as the establishment of a Federal University of Transportation, among which, put together, earned him the honourary title of Dan Amana Daura.
By translation, Dan Amana Daura is “the trusted son of Daura” and the Emir of Daura did not fail to let the Nigerians know this when he conferred the exceptionally coded title recently.
Speaking in Port Harcourt on his mission to rule on Saturday, Amaechi said: “My aspiration is not about fulfilling any personal ambition. I am contesting for the office because I believe that it is my moral duty to give what I can in the service of my country.
