Bayo Ononuga, Fani-Kayode, 48 other prominent APC members yet to be compensated by Tinubu

*The nest is still very wide – Respondent

A list has emerged revealing some prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who contributed a lot during 2023 elections nationally and across the states but are yet to be rewarded.

These party members were skipped in the ministerial appointments just concluded. It will be recalled, however, that Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State until May 29, 2023, who made the list of the 48 ministerial nominees among which 44 were confirmed by the Senate, had his confirmation deferred.

A public affairs and policy analyst, who reacted to the compiled list when asked, said the nest for more appointments is still very wide and warned against public utterances or published statements that will paint Tinubu in bad light to the detriment of national cohesion.

He said, “Tinubu as President is not the one to pick people from states as ministers but only picks from names presented to him by politicians in charge of states. If some do not make ministerial appointments, they will make special advisory positions. There are still lot of openings in the ambassadorial postings and more. So, let us wait and not be part of those plotting to put Nigeria asunder,” he said.

However, with El-Rufai’s travail in the hands of Tinubu’s men in the Godswill Akpabio-led Nigerian Senate, lips are wagging that crisis looms in the ruling party as the President is said to risk incuring the wrath of his North West support base that put him in office till now.

Still on El-Rufai, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) had cautioned President Tinubu against losing the trusted loyalists that he already secured in the geopolitical zone and North in general.

Question being asked now is “How will President Tinubu compensate those yet to be included in the appointments so far?” They are as follows:
