Malam Bashir Ahmad, former Personal Assistant on Social Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, has been reappointed into office, this time, upgraded to Special Assistant.
Bashir, though easy going and innocent looking, is one of the team of men and woman who ‘unputdownable’ firebrands of the Buhari’s Presidency.
He resigned, in compliance with directive of President Buhari in the buildup to primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for the ticket of Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu Federal Constituency in Kano State but could not make it.
The Kano-born young politician had frowned at the way and manner the party’s primary was conducted, saying it was fraught with fraud.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, confirmed the appointment in a letter of appointment addressed to Ahmad, dated July 20, 2022.
Mustapha reportedly said the appointment took effect from July 19, 2022.
The presidential aide is believed to be the only one ‘recalled’ by the president since the APC primaries ended.
